Material information for signs and displays
What materials are best suited for different types of signs, displays and shopfittings? Here you can find information on the most common materials we use to make signs and displays.
All materials are carefully selected to meet different needs in retail, public and campaign environments.

Acrylic
Acrylic is a versatile display material with many uses. The material is often known under brand names such as Perspex®, Plexiglas® and Altuglas®. It is very easy to process, can be glued and cut with high precision.
Areas of use:
- Brochure stands and brochure holders
- Illuminated signs
- Shopfitting
- Screens and displays

A-PET
A-PET (Axpet, Veralite) is a transparent and impact-resistant polyester plastic with excellent optical properties and very good chemical resistance. The plastic is food grade (FDA) and has very good environmental properties.
A-PET is ideal as a material for displays, shop fittings and packaging materials, among others.
A-PET board (1-6 mm)
A-PET boards are hard, transparent plastic materials with high impact resistance, making them very useful in sensitive environments. The material is suitable for both printing and molding and is therefore a common material choice for displays and shop fittings.
Areas of use:
- Displayer
- Shopfittings
- Partition walls
- Packaging materials

A-PET film (0.2 - 0.9 mm)
A-PET film is a thin and transparent plastic film used where protection and visual clarity are required. Unlike A-PET board, it is thinner and more flexible. The material is tough and resilient, making it ideal for printed matter packaging and display surfaces.
Areas of use:
- Poster protection
- Price labeling
- Protective material
PETG
PETG, such as Vivak or Veralite 200, is closely related to A-PET, but is even more impact resistant and offers better moldability. The material is FDA-approved and works well for digital printing and hot forming.
Areas of use:
- Vacuum formed parts
- Signs
- Displayer
- Interior design
- Freezer dividers
- Industrial equipment and machine sewing
Polycarbonate
Polycarbonate is an unbreakable plastic, and is often recognized under well-known brand names such as Makrolon® and Lexan®. The material is optically clear, heat-resistant and extremely impact-resistant.
Polycarbonate is widely used in industry and in environments where high safety and durability are required. The material is available in a variety of colors and in several product variants, including increased scratch resistance and increased UV protection, especially adapted for outdoor use.
Areas of use:
- Protective glazing
- Machine protection
- Hockey rinks
- Visor
- Signs
- Roof domes
Aluminum composite
Aluminum composite, such as Dibond® and Reynobond®, is a sandwich panel consisting of two outer layers of aluminum and a polyethylene core. The construction provides a smooth surface with good printing properties.
The material is particularly suitable for foiling and digital printing.
Areas of use:
- Larger signs
- Product displays
- Furnishings such as tables or cubes

Foamed PVC
Foamed PVC is expanded during manufacturing, resulting in lower density than homogeneous plastic. The material is often recognized under well-known brand names such as Forex®, Foamalight® or Veka®.
Its impact resistance, light weight and good weather resistance make it ideal for signage, digital and screen printing. Foamed PVC is available in two variants, one with a hard surface.
Areas of use:
- Billboards
- Displayer
- Shopfittings
Solid Surface
Solid Surface is an exclusive composite material with long-lasting durability suitable for design in public interiors. The material consists of 2/3 natural minerals, 1/3 acrylic and pigments.
Solid Surface can be manufactured in the most complex shapes and in a single piece without visible joints. Often recognized under well-known brand names such as Meganite®, Corian® and Hi-macs®.
Field of application:
- Interior fittings where extra high finish is required
- Public environment where high resistance to abrasion, moisture etc. is required.
- Structures with seamless joints
